This picture was taken near Gairloch / Melvaig a few years ago and I just loved seeing the traditional roof and I just hope this building has been conserved for the future. I assume it was a traditional croft although I can't be sure as I did not ask anyone locally about it. You can still see many traditional houses throughout the Highlands and some are now being restored and preserved. Many others are being allowed to fall into disrepair as the buildings themselves are no longer suitable for modern living, with rooms too small for families. Some of these old crofts have been restored and are available for holiday rental.
