Loch Maree and the Beinn Eighe National Nature Reserve are home to a wide range of wildlife including Golden Eagles, deer, otters and many species of birds. The nearby village of Kinlochewe and the coastal community around Gairloch provide a wide range of places to stay from bed and breakfast to full board in some of the fine hotels, or for a more relaxed holiday a self-catering cottage or caravan.

With the mist rolling down the mountains towards the loch you do experience a feeling of mystery and it is easy to imagine the years rolling back to ancient times when the wolf and bear would have been found in the Caledonian Forest and in the Highlands of the north of Scotland.
